Children’s Harbor is proud to welcome Alan T. Hargrove, Jr. and L. Dudley Lawson, Jr. to its Board of Directors. Both leaders bring decades of professional experience, strong Alabama roots, and a long history of supporting Children’s Harbor’s mission to serve families of seriously ill children through refuge, respite, and resources.
Alan T. Hargrove, Jr. serves as a Shareholder at Rushton Stakely in Montgomery, where he has practiced law since 1999 and currently sits on the firm’s management committee. A graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and The University of Alabama School of Law, Hargrove has built a respected civil defense practice with a focus on complex litigation.
Alan and his wife, Jodi, live full-time in Alexander City on Lake Martin with their two children, Prather Anne and Thomas. The Hargrove family is deeply engaged in their community and regularly supports Children’s Harbor families at the Lake Martin camps. Alan is also active with Church in the Pines and the GOAT’s men’s Bible study.
Dudley Lawson, Jr. is the owner of C & I Enclosures in Bessemer, a company he built from scratch in 2005 and has led to steady growth. A graduate of Marion Military Institute, Lawson is deeply connected to both the Birmingham and Lake Martin communities. He and his wife, O’Neal Crawford Lawson, are devoted community members and supporters of several philanthropic efforts. Lawson’s connection to Children’s Harbor spans generations—his cousin, Barton Sperry Snow, previously served on the organization’s Board of Directors. His philanthropy includes support for the Tiger Scholarship Fund at Auburn University, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Russell Medical Facility Campaign.

The Children’s Harbor Board of Directors plays a vital role in guiding the organization’s two Alabama campuses—The Harbor Family Center at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham and the Lake Martin retreat facility in Alexander City. Together, the Board ensures families of seriously ill children we serve receive the support, rest, and sense of community they need during difficult seasons.
