Time Capsule Park is the home of two time capsules.

Interred in February 2000, the 2100 Time Capsule, as its name infers, is scheduled to be opened in the year 2100. Its primary intent is to give all Alabama school children an opportunity to write letters to their descendants describing their life, family history, goals, and their vision of life in 2100. Individuals and organizations can also submit letters and historic material to be included.

Another time capsule, interred in 1989 as construction was underway on the Lake Martin campus, is a 50-year project and is scheduled to be opened in 2039. It was a part of "The Year of the Child" initiative and also contains materials from the children of Alabama.
