We believe that our services to children and families must be God-centered and firmly grounded in spiritual values, so Church in the Pines became a part of the ministry of Children's Harbor in 1989.

Begun in 1953 as a place of worship for Lake Martin residents and visitors, Church in the Pines has a special place in the hearts of the thousands of people who have worshiped here.

The open-air a-frame structure, with its bench seats and roughly-hewn cross suspended above the rock pulpit, sits by the shores of Lake Martin at the Kowaliga Bridge.

Non-denominational services are held each Sunday from 9:00 AM until 9:30 AM from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend and are moved to Children's Chapel after the summer months. Inspirational guest pastors and soloists are invited to lead in the worship services where everyone is welcome.

Because of the lovely natural setting among the trees where the waves lap against the beach, many brides choose Church in the Pines for their wedding each year. With a capacity for about 500 people under the roof and many more on the lawn, couples planning a large outdoor wedding find this the perfect location.
