Liz Cummings - MA, LPC, RPT
Pulmonary Counselor

Liz received a master's degree in Community Agency Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham . She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Alabama . She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with additional training in play therapy. Prior to joining Children's Harbor Family Center , Liz worked at Eastside Mental Health Center for three years with children and families. She has also worked at SafeHouse of Shelby County and has experience working with families on issues of trauma and domestic violence.

Liz primarily works with children and families served through the allergy/pulmonary division. She provides play therapy for children where they can creatively express their feelings and emotions through play and art in a supportive and safe environment. Liz also provides individual and family therapy to help families recognize and build on their strengths and positive coping skills when faced with the chronic illness and other life issues.

Liz is a member of the Alabama Counseling Association, Alabama Association for Play Therapy, and Alabama Mental Health Counseling Association. She is a volunteer with Magic Moments and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
